Very tall structures in the middle that are easily climbable creates really campy gameplay (Pharaoh) but structures that aren't too tall or too low and are also easily reachable can create really interesting and fun gameplay. I think that the elevation of maps is very important. Steampunk has a relatively closed up mid which makes it much harder to know where you are located (or which base you're closest to) at most areas in mid. It should also be very open so that you always know where you are.Į.g.

The layout of the map compensates this issue by making it so that rushing the diamond generators is a much better form of rushing than going through mid.Ī newer map, for example Fang Outpost, has a very close mid which makes mid rushing seem very obvious, however, the mid has multiple layers and is very complex. Invasion is also a map that is liked by the community however it's mid is not very simple. Maps that are good for grinding on usually really simple - somewhat complex.įor example, Lectus is a really simple map that is commonly enjoyed by the 'sweatier' side of the community. also you can kinda see my writing getting worse and worse and i found it funny.Ī lot of complaints towards less-liked maps by sweats is the complexity of the maps.
